right kind of phrase
Well well well. Ajamedor sent me this link to the Jason Mraz forums where someone stumbled upon the collection of Mraz photos that I uploaded to my webserver, which were taken by Ajamedor heehe

Credit lie where credit is due, and of course it was found out that Ajamedor was the one that took it and I need not explain as he did himself (read the posts heh). But what a small world this world wide web can be.. still trying to figure out how they managed to stumble upon my blog, and the closest thing I get is a google referral that actually came from larissa's blog searching for "jason+mraz+incredible+voice", so even more weird hehe

Heeheee
Hey, Ajamedor, and a "g'day" to you, too (Australians are too cute aren't they?)! Thank you SOOOOOO much you are too cool for school.
Yes, we are too cute aren't we. Too Cool For School *puts his sunnies on* :D

If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again
And the beat goes on. If only my mandarin was any good, I might have had a chance. The manager says they were lookin more for people who could speak both canto and mando, so at this present time, there ain't no position for me. Maybe in a few weeks when everything settles down. Maybe I'll try again. Maybe I won't. Such is life.

I can at least try and look for work more aligned to what I know and have an interest in, and have the experience required. If all else fails, well hmm I don't think I'll go back to uni again for the third time.

More time to R&R at least.

RealWorld here I come
Finally went for an interview with HR this morning at the co I use to work at. After waiting for like 30 minutes, I had to sit for a 12 minute Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT) i.e. an intelligence test comprising problem solving, interpretations, analysis etc, which I had no idea I had to sit for, but luckily my brain was still in the problem solving mood. I managed to do half the questions and did reasonably well, so she said. Maybe I should of asked her what I got hmm. I don't really like doing these sortsa tests, even though it may help see how people think and stuff, as long as it doesn't form the basis of the recruiting process then fine. I still have to go back and see one of the managers, since she couldn't find him/he was busy today so another trip back out to Botany. fun.
Only bad thing about working there is need own transport. No public transport out to Botany (near the airport), currently theres a private bus hired just for employees from Central-Work but thats just normal work hours. I'm more than likely halfway to being hired, yay!, but gotta ring tomorrow and see when I need to go in again.

General Annihilation
Crawling outta bed this morning was a lil tiring, with my body still sore and aching recovering from yesterday's ball game. Paintball that is. Surprisingly, I didn't get hit as much throughout the day, til the last 'game' which was Free For All (FFA). Before that though, was Unlimited Annihilation game which was just playing team game on the Hyperball field, til you cant bear the pain or run out of paintballs. Durin these 2 games was when I got painted bad. Got a real bad pearler of a welt, which kinda looks like a cigarette burn cept 100 times as big and redder. The rest of my arms, backs n backside got covered as well, so today I've been gently sitting down. I can hardly crouch since I was doing that so much my muscles gone sore.

We played on about 6 fields - Trenches, Fort, Dakota Trail, Snipers n Ferrets, Hyperball, and few others I can't remember the names of and the website is currently down so I cant' double check them. Most of them we played the soccer/capture the flag type game, where the flag is placed in the middle and we needed to take it to the opposite end without gettin shot at. The others were basically elimination cept for Snipers and Ferrets, where one team (snipers) would need to find a hiding spot amongst the shrubs and ferns and not move whilst the other team (ferrets) would come and hunt them out. My cousin, his friend and myself were the lone snipers that survived as we had pretty much lay prone together in the ferns with the ferrets covering the area next to us. There were a few ferrets that were wading through the bushes a few metres away but not seeing us - and us not shooting them due to the distance and the accuracy of the guns, which werent that great.

On 2 of the fields we played the General game. On one field, the person wearing the vests were the General (one on each team) and could not die unless shot below the knees. On another one team had 2 Generals and needed to escort them to the other side of the field, but they would die if they got shot twice on the vest. I of course was lucky nuff to get picked as being a General, considering I gave the referee considerable flack throughout the day (along with my cousins heehe). In the morning before we started, the ref called me over and asked me who the organiser was, and I told em it was my cousin - a chick, and what he had planned wouldnt go well, No way, shes gonna shoot the crap outta me he says. Then I said, shes got a brother. Hes the tall, fat big dude err better not, hes bigger than me. Well theres also her younger brother, hes about tall as me. Okay, whats his name?. Bevan. Right, so my cousin was surprised when they go to him and ask if he was Bevan, and wondering what the hell was going on. Heehee I snicker to myself, love ya bro. Then of course, right at the end, there was a brotherly love Mexican standoff between my 2 cousin brothers. The older, big fat one, got totally painted, mask all coverd in green and his front n sides, whilst Bev was hardly touched.

What I had planned for my sis.. well didn't quite eventuate. She was quite the camper defensive player. Her first hit was only during the mexican standoff between the 2 teams, before we played the Fort. 2 teams about 8metres apart, taking one shot each side, til the last person remained. She got shot on the thigh and she was in immense pain - almost to tears. The ref felt so bad he kept telling her you can get a gun and shoot me heehe.

I wasn't too happy - along with 3 other blokes, who when sitting out in the deadzone after being shot in one of the games, was still shot at by some idiot (one of Bevs friends) who fired about a dozen shots at us, I got hit in the leg along with the others. Think that should be a firing squad offence, but the ref didn heed us, so we set about taking our revenge in the later games.. heh

All in all, it was a fun day and having to work a few hours later was a bit tiring. As long as I wont have to move for a few hours I should be fine and recover heeh. Given the preference of where to play (outta the 2 i've been), I would pick Helensburgh, as its a lot closer and fields seem to be a bit better.

Well thats my recovering skirmish report for now. Til the next fun filled skirmish outing.

Bang.
Don't believe I woke up so early but of course there's a reason. Skirmish is on today and its out in Yarramundi, way over near Penrith, so that's gonna be like an hours drive. I usually goto Helensburgh, near Sutherland, which is quite closer. This time my sis is coming and she's a skirmish virgin and shes starting to regret coming. She's only playing cos her bf wants to and of course she has to drag along. 22 years of torture, pain and love in a day's game of skirmish heeehe. She better hope I don't see her if she's on the other team muhahaha :D

Mahjong Anyone?
Hands up if you got itchy hands!

If you're bored and got nothing to do, download this mahjong game. You can play single, on LAN or over the internet against humans and computers. w00t. There are some dodgy things with it that can be improved but it plays pretty good. Still have yet to figure out how to score properly although I understand most basics of the scoring esp with dragons, winds, flowers, suits etc just not the combination of each hehe. If you get it, you need to crack it to be able to play online (read the rp.nfo in the zip for more info).

If you get it, lemme know so we can play heeehe :)
*scratches hands*

Or if theres a better mahjong game out there lemme know too. Yahoo Games has a dodgy version of it which I don't like playing unless its the last resort heeh. But theres always Chess to play on yahoo *looks at Mey* :p

I ended up being phone interviewed today testing my cantonese, from the guy that referred me for the job at the old co I worked for. He went and chased up HR as noone had called me back, and the HR lady turned around and asks him why don't you do it?... so that wasn't so bad after all, we just ended up talking for 20mins about other stuff after the lil test which was basically getting info from a customer, whats your name, number, company, problem etc. joy. He says will let HR know I did okay and to get me in some time soon, awaiting for call from HR some time soon.

Coincidentally, I had a call yesterday from a recruitment agency, who saw my resume advertised on one of the careers websites, that was responsible for hiring people for the same company and asked me if I was interested in working for them again. I of course replied, yes I would be, and that they will get back to me. Now theres my dilemma. What happens if I get put forward by the recruitment agency as well, when I'm likely to be interviewd by HR directly some time soon. I didn't tell the agency about me being referred already as I wanted to see what the reaction was as I hadn't heard from HR. hmm guess I'll have to inform them soon if I do manage to get through. ahhh when you need a job you can't get one. When you look for alternatives you get so many choices.

Charcoaled Chicken
I bugged a few people about ideas for a 23rd birthday present for the past few days since I ain't the birthday present thinkin type (Don't ask me what I want for my birthday, since there aint really anything I can think of that I want anyway heh) I ended up getting a JAG wallet after walking around Westfield Hurstville for almost 2 hours, although half that time I was in the music section of the stores and Sanity and HMV .. think I walked into each store a few times checking out the latest hehe

It was my first time doing that Asian style BBQ, sitting wif food on the fork/prongs over a charcoal bbq, taking us almost 30mins to get the fire started. Whilst waitin for that we were jus thinkin of how easy it was with the Aussie barbie and a stubbie of VB, just light 'er up and cook away. Our BBQ (there were 2) took so long to started me and another guy decided to use 2 forks of food to cook to catch up to the other guys. Never realised bbqing corn could be so much fun. Takes so long just to cook the food and you eat it all in a minute. Friends were weighing up the time and effort ratio of cooking:eating decided to take their time to enjoy their cookin efforts whilst I being hungry after waiting for so long couldnt be bothered. Chicken with a dash of charcoal on it tastes so crunchy. I forgot I had nicked a bit of charcoal when someone pushed my fork down with another, and when I ate it it was oh so yummay. *crunch crunch* wonder what honey glazed barbequed maltese terrier tastes like hmmm (only kidding ;)

Think I'll stick to the Aussie bbq for now, so much easier and more food in less time.

Lei Ho Ma?
The job that I had a phone interview for last week was not to be. After leaving a few messages, the guy calls me back and informs me that the position had been filled. Thanks for telling me mate. cheers.

On another note, for a position at the company I worked for a few years ago which I was referred for, well, a 2nd language is mandatory for the position and I didn't know that at the time I gave my resume, but I guess my cantonese will have to do. The HR lady says she'll call back tomorrow and get someone to ask me stuff to test my cantonese out. I'm not quite sure how I'll go as I don't use my cantonese at a business/technical level, let alone explaining technical concepts or giving support. Well I figure I can explain things but it wont be in proper cantonese, chinglish more, hopefully that will suffice heh.

Hello!
Well hey there. I've seemed to have gotten quite a few hits today seemingly due to a few ppls referrals so now I'm being stalked by more and more people and by people I know but I aint getting paranoid (yet).

So just leave me a line - either email me or sign my guestmap so I know where you're stalking me from or my guestbook. Be creative like riss' guestmap entry if you want to, I don't mind - there are crazy people in this world ;) Especially if you become a regular stalker of mine I wanna know who you are, I've sorta figured out who the people are that I do know so thats easy nuff but I dont know everyone.... or just leave a comment if you're lazy ;)

You wont find anything here much tittilating or exciting or philosophical or worthy of the Pulitzer Prize, as I ain't a writer and I don't seem to write in the same way each time, although I'm trying to fix that and try to work on my writing skillz so I can reflect back on this and say, wow I have improved :)
My grammer grammar stinks and my spelling worsening. Follow the other lives on the right in my Another Life section to find more inspirational postings.

Thats my 2.2cents including GST worth of my paranoia and fineprint post :)

P.S.
On a seriouser note, I would appreciate it for those I don't already know reading this to leave me a message of some form, as it is nice to know who actually reads this. Thanks :c)

PPS
Why did I bother with a PS on a blog for.. and now a PPS hmm yes. good one.

Amrazing continued
Last nights gig was pretty good awesome (ok? :) considering I dont think I've been to such an up-close and personal gig before. (If you count Human Nature performing in the school hall during high school then this would be my second :) As the only songs I've listened to of Jason Mraz was from his website I was lucky enough to know probably half the songs he did and the ones I havn't heard before were quite good to. He is quite the lyricist as Mey put it and being at one of these live gigs, the atmosphere is quite different to a normal concert which is more routine and performance based (a la Usher and Janet Jackson I saw before). Although the shouting from the back (crazy woman 2 persons behind me) got quite irritating after a while (the s.l.u.t.!) and the human smoke machines up front who kept on having a ciggie (is The Metro a nonsmoking venue??) was annoying too.

Ajamedor got quite a few good pics of the gig and the after show signing with pics of Jason, Toca Rivera (the bongo(?) drum player) and the Didgi (didgireedoo (sp)) boy. Post links to that when he decides to upload them (hint hint :). Also got one of Jason's Live CDs autographed with him and Tocas sig which was goodo (altho it was more like a squiggle for Jason, probably because Toca took up the bottom half of the CD heeh)
Heres the CD
The top one is Jason and you can make out Toca Rivera on the bottom. (you can also see my lil intel webcam from the reflection hehe) He also signed the inside cover of the CD which you can actually make out the 'Mraz'

As Ajamedor mentioned, its been 5-6 years since we first chatted to each other and finally actually meeting. Although it had been chatting infrequently before, its nice to meet someone from knowing them for so long ;) And since Larissa managed to pimp Jason Mraz off to him as well and after only listening to a few songs he decides to come along. Uber sweet, I guess the BOGOF offer was too good to refuse :)

Also having not seen Larissa since high school (same school in years 11&12) it was nice to see her again after 5years of uni life as well heehe

Mraz Reviews.
Mey's review
Ajamedor's review
Larissa's review ;)

Amrazing.
It wasn't alright it was pretty goodo. Went to see Jason Mraz at The Metro tonight (last night/late night/early morning) and now im all pooped out. Well standing up in the same spot for about 4 hours got me legs all tired although I usually do that every weekend for work but at least I move my legs then.

I think I shall continue this later when I'm more refreshed. Most likely Larissa will write a rave review about the concert, Ajamedor with his and his load of pics from his beefy camera ;) and Mey who was excited to hear her fave(?) song, You And I Both right at the end :)

Brains falling asleep so this amrazing post shall be continued.

Bored
There haven't been much to post about lately since I've finished my exams I've just been bumming around at home. Lookin for work as per usual, trying to pimp myself off (in a good way of course :) Had a call on Mondee about a job I applied for, was an initial interview over the phone. I should really call them back since he said he'd call me back the next day so I guess I shall do that tomorrow. Although from his questioning about what I want to do didnt sound too good, as it was a support role but he knew I was more focused on "hard core" programming during uni and I was a Masters graduate - making me sound too over qualified .. but it was a network support gig so I aint non-too fussed about that .. sounds quite interesting anyway.

What The Hell
A friend posted me this link today on MSN, and I have nfi what its suppose to be or where its from. The Spongemonkeys(??) singing We Love The Moon. Just listening to it and watching it is quite enthralling really. You should take a look and tell me what it's suppose to be or if I'm missing out on a new craze somewhere, considering I missed out on Yowies a while ago I wouldn't be suprised if this Spongemonkey act is something new too.
