Watched I, Robot this morning, which is based on the Isaac Asimov's series of novels on a robotic future and the 3 laws of robotics. Set in Chicago in the year 2035, which is only 30 years from now is so not a realistic environment, IMO, as I doubt that 30 years from now we'd be driving Audis that drive themselves, automatic parking, robotic demolitions etc.... aaaanyway. besides all that, the movie as a whole is interesting... jam packed with action amongst all the bias for/against robots. Although it was quite disappointing (for the guys anyway..) to have seen Will Smith in all his glory in the first 5 minutes, and us guys left with a frosted shower door of Bridget Moynahan in the last half of the movie... now where is the justice in that?! Probably have to stick to the cowgirl scene in Coyote Ugly... or The Recruit....
There is this new store open in Westfield Miranda which is a haven for sweet tooths called Sugar Fix. Hot damn there was so many people.. and I don't think I'd wanna go there too often. Although its quite tempting to (maybe after my next dental checkup mmmmm) Stocked with so much golden oldies that I grew up with as a child.. jawbreakers (those everlasting gobstoppers), pez, sherberts, jelly bellies, zours, kinder surprises, giant lollypops, turkish delights, all kinds of chocolates and lollies and a whole lot more. I was being considerate and only bought myself one of them sherbert straws which I haven't had since year 5 or 6.. Saving it for work tomorrow to keep me awake. Heehee. :DD

Went out to what was formerly the Heritage Court restaurant which is now a Chinese restaurant out in hurstville.. cos my mum had a recommendation that the food was nice there (and it was quite nice). Looking through the menu, at the bottom of the beef/pork section was Rabbit cooked with home made sauce. Now this was actually during dinner when my sis pointed it out to me.. and it was a lil bit unsettling haha luckily the food tasted good and nothing came out :) Flipping through the takeaway menu, there was also a Sizzling rabbit in hot and spicy sauce and also Deer cooked with home made sauce. I just hope it aint a live and kicking sizzling rabbit that they have jumpin outta the takeaway container ....
something's amiss Saturday night was John Mayer's concert and well.. time flew by for me and before I knew it, the concert was over. I think I was enjoying it too much. Started off with a kick and a bang with Lo-tel electrifying the place.... my ears getting a workout from the load of speakers on the sides, and they performed quite well. For the die hard Mayer fans I guess the concert was great. And being touted as the Heavier Things tour, and performing only 2 weeks after the album release.. there wasn't much time for the regular peeps to get into the groove of things, but having been listening to it for the weeks before the concert I was glad I knew (most) the songs he sung. Highlight of the concert would have been the guitar conversation during Come Back To Bed .. and if he done the 1980 song improvs during 83 as he supposedly did in the Melbourne show that would have rocked the place too. oh well. A die hard fan review by Larissa and a letter to Mr Mayer himself by xtn for your viewing pleasure. For those who do have the Heavier Things album.. does their Time Elapsed/Time Left counter go wacky or issit just me when played on the PC? hmm Sunday, July 13, 2003
I bugged a few people about ideas for a 23rd birthday present for the past few days since I ain't the birthday present thinkin type (Don't ask me what I want for my birthday, since there aint really anything I can think of that I want anyway heh) I ended up getting a JAG wallet after walking around Westfield Hurstville for almost 2 hours, although half that time I was in the music section of the stores and Sanity and HMV .. think I walked into each store a few times checking out the latest hehe
It was my first time doing that Asian style BBQ, sitting wif food on the fork/prongs over a charcoal bbq, taking us almost 30mins to get the fire started. Whilst waitin for that we were jus thinkin of how easy it was with the Aussie barbie and a stubbie of VB, just light 'er up and cook away. Our BBQ (there were 2) took so long to started me and another guy decided to use 2 forks of food to cook to catch up to the other guys. Never realised bbqing corn could be so much fun. Takes so long just to cook the food and you eat it all in a minute. Friends were weighing up the time and effort ratio of cooking:eating decided to take their time to enjoy their cookin efforts whilst I being hungry after waiting for so long couldnt be bothered. Chicken with a dash of charcoal on it tastes so crunchy. I forgot I had nicked a bit of charcoal when someone pushed my fork down with another, and when I ate it it was oh so yummay. *crunch crunch* wonder what honey glazed barbequed maltese terrier tastes like hmmm (only kidding ;) Think I'll stick to the Aussie bbq for now, so much easier and more food in less time. mmmm Dooooughnuts
It was Australia's first Krispy Kreme store opening yesterday out in woopwoop in Penrith (why would you open one out there for? Doughnut eating capital of NSW??) but anyways, 2 of my friends had sickies or half day sickies and decided to go out there and brought me some Krispy Kreme signature Original Glazed doughnuts. I still don't get why they're suppose to be so good - maybe as I haven't had a glazed/iced donut since who knows when as I'm the cinnamon doughnut variety type *licks fingers* of a doughnut person. But theyre sweet and quite filling - just had one for breakfast .. and one before dinner last night (luckily sis wasn't home yet heehe) - although theres nothing in them to be filled up on. I think I will have had my doughnut intake for the year after this lot (6 of them, Counting the Days Bic Runga's song and also what I am doing at the moment. Tooo bad couldnt goto her concert but of course, study is much more important. 3 Days left to go before it starts and 7 til it ends. Too quick, too soon. Life goes on. I'm also getting lined up with the old company I use to work for, for new jobs but doing pretty much the same thing, not sure if thats where I want to head but its a start ... less its a level higher which is a bit more interesting. Whoknows, I shall wait for the phone call. Labels: food, job hunting, life
